People study Martial for many different reasons. Some study for self-defense, some to gain self-confidence and insight, while others do it to gain or maintain good health and physical fitness. Aguilas Unidas (United Eagles) is a martial art that was constructed around the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do. Other styles were implemented in order to enhance the system and make it more complete and comprehensive, Later in training parts of karate, Hapkido and Ju Jit Su are taught to round out the individual student's education and abilities in the martial arts. However, the main course of study remains the tremendous art of self-defense Tae Kwon Do.

Grand Master Nieves is the President and Founder of United Eagles and is a former 6 time State, 3 time Regional and 2 time National Champion and has recently been inducted in the American Martial Arts Hall Of Fame in October 2003 again as Tae Kwon Do Master of the Year and World Karate Union Hall of Fame in June 2001 as Tae Kwon Do Distinguished Master of the Year. He also received the Distinguished Black Belt Recognition Award from President Grand Master Gary Alexander the International Association of Martial Artists. Born in Aguadilla Puerto Rico on 10 September 1957. He began his training in 1965 in Bridgeport CT. and served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 24 Years, Retired in 1999. He has trained thousands of U.S. Marines, Sailors and Civilians. Owned and operated his 1st Martial Arts school at the age of 15, He believes in training his students with respect and pushing them to be the best.
